In 2013 there were nearly 57 million people admitted into the ER with back and/or cervical neck pain and is the second leading cause for visits at doctors offices. Back and neck pain is not normal although it is very prevalent. Since it is so common, most people wait until the pain is too severe in order to get it looked at. Consistent chiropractic care keeps good spinal health as well as prevents a trip to the ER. In 2018 Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published an article talking about the pros and cons of
chiropractic care. Researchers enrolled 750 military veterans who had complained of back pain in a 6 week intensive chiropractic treatment program. After the 6 week period, the veterans experienced less intensive pain, experienced less disability and higher performance in function, and needed less pain medication. No serious side effects were reported during this time.
Chiropractic care is necessary for good spinal health but, why? Throughout our day to day lives we develop these conditions called subluxations. A subluxation is a misalignment of the spinal vertebrae. These conditions promote pain and abnormal movement. With the added Quantum Neurology that Dr Hartley performs in her office, helps open up the nerve communication with the rest of the body. You are getting more than a structural adjustment when under her care. All things considered, coming in for an adjustment is good for overall good spinal health and keeping you out of pain in the long run.
