We are right in the middle of our year end Holiday Craze. Regardless of your faith, you are in the thick of it!
After barely recovering from Thanksgiving, I just got back from spending the final days of Chanukah and a Bat Mitzvah in Charleston with some of my favorite people, and am gearing up for Christmas with my family while trying to figure out this Ground Nut Stew recipe for a Kwanzaa celebration (peanut soup? who knew?).
As we enter in and through the holidays let us remember that this is a time of inclusion and celebration. It is a time to be grateful for all that has been gifted to us in the past year, and a time to lay ground for the upcoming year ahead.
Just like my bees, secured away in their hives, it is also a time to regroup and heal, and prepare for the expansion of Spring.
So the tip for the week is don’t let the stress get the best of you.
If you find yourself stressed out, remember that is about being together for the holidays and not about things. It’s not a crisis, it’s a celebration. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect. If you are not enjoying yourself, find a way to do so. Due to the snow in Chicago I had a 1.5 hour delay on my way to Charleston and a over 3 hour delay on the way back- spent mostly on the plane on a frozen runway. So instead of lamenting my plight- I took the offer of a courtesy Bloody Mary “on the Captain” and started my new years resolution… which is to stay in touch with all of you better with my blog’s and Facebook posts. So we all win!
All my love and holiday wishes,
Dr Jen Hartley
